Yesturday as you all know was the last day of London Fashion Weekend which is open to the public where theres discounted designer shopping, goodie bags and a catwalk. I helped out on the entrances again by helping the public with any enquires they had. Young fashionistas wore their sunday bests marching along with their friends eager to get into Somerset House to start shopping. Volunteering at Somerset House has shown me a great insight into the world of the fashion industry. I think the public sometimes forget its a business and that it needs to find every single way to make you part with your money.
After I had finished volunteering I took a wonder around the site at the discounted items to which I was quite disappointed at as the brands weren’t well known, clothing looked like old stock and everything was way over priced and nothing seemed to be discounted at all. I asked some of the brands what the discount was and most said 20% but this was on £100+ items so it isn’t much of a discount. I ended up buying a £6.30 hand cream by Cowshed and a small body lotion sample which was £1. Even the goodie bag was not worth buying as the contents was layed out near the till where you bought it from and it was 5 items worth not even a £1 each. Anyway seems like I’am moaning alot but overall it is a good day out for you and your friends as there are little cafes and cupcake places to eat at and it can be a fun day out. Here are some photos I took at the event.
